Route Zero

Route Zero is a bold and ambitious initiative that aims to showcase the practicality of electric vehicles in all types of travel. By bringing together passionate EV enthusiasts and organizations, the campaign effectively raises awareness about the numerous benefits of electric vehicles and the ongoing expansion of charging infrastructure. In 2023, participants embarked on a journey through varied terrains, effectively demonstrating the adaptability and reliability of EVs. This event serves as a platform for promoting sustainable mobility and fostering a sense of community among EV drivers, effectively reflecting the increasing momentum of electric transportation.

In 2024, EVA members and the general public are setting up for a bigger and better expression of what #RouteZero means. Calling on the Biden administration to support the strongest #CleanerCars emission standards, specific state relays and local displays of support for the light and medium duty rules will again take place, from rural Wisconsin to Downtown D.C. More details are soon to come!

From May of 2023 through July of 2023, the EVA coordinated members to drive the route, provide EVs for speaker backdrops and organize and attend events at all of the stops across the US including: Los Angeles, CA; Flagstaff, AZ; Santa Fe, NM; Kansas City, MO; Joliet, IL; Detroit, MI; Cleveland, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; and Washington, DC. Our chapters have continued to support and promote Route Zero through social media videos and posts. With its partners, the EVA streamed many of the Route Zero stops live on its facebook page and distributed Route Zero materials at the events. We also sent Route Zero collateral to chapters across the nation so that they could amplify the messaging in their areas. These chapters were in AZ, CA, CO, IL, OH, MI, MD, MN, NJ, NV, NY, OR, and TX and all of our 100 chapters around the country were encouraged to participate.
